DETAILED REPORT

The first documented “Venusian” contact is George Adamski’s, on November 20, 1952, near Desert Center, California, witnessed at a distance by six companions. Adamski described meeting a young man with long blond hair, wearing a one-piece brown suit, who identified himself (through gesture and telepathy) as a visitor from Venus and warned that atomic testing was sending dangerous radiation into space — Adamski later rendered the message as “too many booms.” Adamski named him Orthon. A famous photograph of the scout ship followed a few weeks later, on December 13, 1952, taken through Adamski’s own telescope; the craft is described as translucent metal with three ball-shaped landing supports. Adamski published these and later encounters in Flying Saucers Have Landed (1953, with Desmond Leslie) and Inside the Space Ships (1955).

The second and more detailed account is Dr. Frank E. Stranges’, published in 1967 as Stranger at the Pentagon. Stranges describes a Venusian named Valiant Thor landing near Alexandria, Virginia, on March 16, 1957 — reportedly witnessed first by a local police officer — and subsequently being escorted to the Pentagon, where he was granted VIP status and remained for roughly three years, departing around 1960. Stranges describes Thor as physically unremarkable: about six feet tall, roughly 185 pounds, brown wavy hair, brown eyes, a normal and slightly tanned complexion, with unusually soft skin. His most distinctive documented features were the complete absence of fingerprints and, in some retellings, a navel — which Stranges records Thor explaining as a mark Earth humans carry since the biblical Fall of Adam, one his own unfallen people never received. Stranges’ account has Thor meeting President Eisenhower and Vice President Nixon and offering technology to address disease and energy scarcity, in exchange for global nuclear disarmament — an offer the account says was ultimately declined.

A third, considerably later tradition comes from Phil Schneider, a geologist and engineer who described a very different Valiant Thor in a 1995 Preparedness Expo lecture: six fingers on each hand, an oversized heart, a single enlarged lung, copper-based blood compared to an octopus’s, an IQ figure as high as 1200, and an age of roughly 500 years. This account is not drawn from Stranges’ book and is, on its own physical details, difficult to reconcile with Stranges’ description of an otherwise ordinary-looking man. Both traditions are presented here, attributed separately, rather than merged into a single consistent physiology.

The Venusians — Three Contactee Accounts, Not One Species Profile

• Two Stories, One Label: “Venusian” in ufology covers at least two independently-arising 1950s contactee accounts (Adamski’s Orthon and Stranges’ Valiant Thor) that share a theme — peaceful blond or brown-haired humanoids warning against nuclear war — but were never presented by their original tellers as the same encounter or the same specific individual.
• The Schneider Discrepancy: Phil Schneider’s 1990s description of Thor (six fingers, single lung, octopus-like blood, IQ 1200) conflicts with Stranges’ own physical description of a man notable mainly for lacking fingerprints. Treating both as the same documented physiology, as earlier drafts of this page did, erases a real inconsistency in the source material rather than reporting it.
• A Chronology Problem: Some retellings place Secretary of Defense James Forrestal among the officials who met Thor at the Pentagon. Forrestal died in 1949, eight years before Thor’s reported 1957 arrival — a detail worth flagging rather than repeating as fact.
• Evidentiary Status: All three accounts rest entirely on the word of the individual who reported them — Adamski, Stranges, and Schneider, respectively — with no independent documentary confirmation of any Venusian visitor located to date. This page reports what each man claimed, not that any of it is established.

The Venusian archetype is one of the foundational images of the contactee era, but it was never a single, internally consistent account to begin with — it is three men’s separate stories, told years apart, sharing a theme more than a physiology. Flattening them into one clinical species profile, as earlier material on this page did, manufactures a consistency that doesn’t exist in the sources themselves.
